His performance on this CD is both startling and inspiring. I first saw Stephen play in Philadelphia at a showcase, and couldn't believe what I was seeing live. He started his performance by placing a tape recorder on his keyboard and playing the Frankenstein Movie clip that exalts "It's Alive" and boy was he NOT kidding. What followed was shear brilliance. Making him an even more interesting and compelling story is his successful adaptation to a nuerological condition called Tourette Syndrome that he hasn't merely tamed, but in some respects has seemed to incorporate into his art and performance. To see Stephen perform live is frankly like watching a juggernaut on piano. To realize he is also a polished pop and contemporary guitarist-singer-songwriter as well as an experimental Jazz and Celtic performer just adds to his mystique. This guy might be the most amazing discovery we have ever made during our Roadtrips, where we first met him in 1999 in Philadelphia."
