- "One of the occupational hazards of being a music presenter is that despite
working with many accomplished performers, very few have that special
something to get past my own critical defenses. Stephen DiJoseph the
musician -- using nothing flashier than beautiful, accessible, original
music -- easily skirted those defenses to register a hit. Stephen DiJoseph
the person took that one step further to adroitly amuse and uplift his
audience, and educate them as to who can be an artist."

- "When I first played Stephen DiJoseph's
CD for several different industry folks, the first thing they said was "This
guy is a @$#%ing genius!" Expletive or not, I have to agree. His performance
on this CD is both startling and inspiring.
I first saw Stephen play in Philadelphia at a showcase, and couldn't
believe what I was seeing live. He started his performance by placing a tape
recorder on his keyboard and playing the Frankenstein Movie clip that exalts
"It's Alive" and boy was he NOT kidding. What followed was shear brilliance.
Complex, bold, powerful, awe inspiring piano performances and arrangements.
The kind of pianistic authority of which this listener had never witnessed before
first hand, and could only daydream of ever achieving myself. He is that good!
- Regarded as a genuis level pianist by many of the people we played
his music for around the country, Stephen
is a fascinating and diverse artist who has a depth of talent that I am
not sure even he has fully explored. Making him an even more interesting
and compelling story is his successful adaptation to a nuerological condition
called Tourette Syndrome that he hasn't merely tamed, but in some respects
has seemed to incorporate into his art and performance. To see Stephen
perform live is frankly like watching a juggernaut on piano. To realize he is
also a polished pop and contemporary guitarist-singer-songwriter as well as an experimental
Jazz and Celtic performer just adds to his mystique. This guy might be the
most amazing discovery we have ever made during our Roadtrips, where
we first met him in 1999 in Philadelphia."

- "Stephen DiJoseph is a masterful Musician who is very inventive
with melody. The description of his music as 'poetry' is very apt. His style holds your attention waiting to see what he will do
next. As you listen, you feel like you've found something that you didn't know
you needed."

- His tender touch on keys
and pedal, and his appreciation for the merits of open space,
distinguish him as a sensitive, nuanced artist ..

- "Very nice disc indeed. Matter of fact it will see dual duty here at 90FM
on JazzSides and future editions of the New Age Sampler. Lots of air and a great
lower register fundamental tones in this recording. ...... very involving for
the listener, drawing one into the music, the almost lyrical voicings and touch
are uncanny in their ability to recreate the space and staging of the piano
and the intended emotional involvement.
